Road to Paris:
Qualifications
Twelve national teams are participating in volleyball at the Summer Olympics in Paris 2024.
As the host, France, the current Olympic champion in men’s volleyball, has already secured a place in the Olympic competition. The remaining 11 quota places are allocated through a two-stage qualification process, which ensures that the best volleyball countries participate in the Games, taking into account the principle of universality.

30th of September – 9th of October 2023.
Step 1 – FIVB road to Paris
through volleyball qualifications.
Six Olympic quota places are available during the FIVB Volleyball Qualifiers Road to Paris, where the top 24 FIVB World Member (WR) teams that have not yet qualified are divided into three groups of eight. The top two national teams from each group qualify for Paris 2024.
Step 2 – Universality Choice
The remaining five positions per gender are filled by selecting the top five teams not yet qualified in the FIVB ranking list at the end of the FIVB Volleyball Nations League 2024 pre-competition phase. To ensure the principle of universality, these teams are selected in the following order of priority: 1) Teams from continents without qualified teams and 2) Top teams not yet qualified.
